Behind The Sequins

This blog is mostly a 'sneak peek' behind the scenes. Where you can see how we do what we do. As well as the amount of time and effort that we put into just one tutu! As well as our faithful side kick Rocco the Lovebird.

Bride to be tutu set

In this post I'll be showing how we create our DELUXE Ravin' Stardust tutu set, that was requested by a customer that loved our Ravin' Stardust Tutu set but wanted glitter L plates and glitter hearts with a different veil. We're more than happy to create any of our customers ideas :)

See below the 'Tutu Story' from start to finish!

Rocco answering customer emails!

Each tutu is each individually cut once the order has been placed

Each layer has to be feathered to achieve the shape as well as the individual orange and yellow 'flashes'
Depending on size tutus can take upto 25 minutes just to be cut out into their lengths, layers and style especially if there's a bustle added on too

Well, it's not like that with Rocco....

Again depending on size a tutu can take up to anywhere from 10-15 minutes to an hour if there's lots of frills or detail!
You know when all the animals help the princesses in the Disney films?

Rocco is only allowed to supervise this bit or he'd be running away with all the sequins!

Every single star sequin is glued on individually by hand all over.
Thats A LOT of stars so it takes A LOT of time!

Photos taken before glue had dried

Now for this outfit our customer didn't want our usual veil that goes with our Ravin' Stardust she wanted a straight pink veil with matching sequins and a purple glitter tiara to match the L Plates and hearts.
And who are we to say no??

Tiara will need to dry overnight to ensure all glitter is dried to the tiara so
it doesn't all rub off when we sew it to the veil!

Mad Hatter Wedding

VEGAS BABY!

This was custom made for a customer whose sister is getting married in Vegas and was having a Mad Hatter themed hen night so we mixed the two as well as personalizing it for the happy couple!

This veil is made of a silver fever top hat (on a headband) with white hologram sparkle dress net in our cascade style veil with colour coordinating playing cards with the Ace of Hearts being personalised with the couples names on - altogether now, awww!

Was really happy with the outcome so we'll also be adding these to the website very shortly once it's been completely updated and customers will be able to choose their colours to match their theme. Could also be done without the veil for special birthdays?

Who says you need to have a 'traditional' veil for your hen night/wedding? This is all about you so why not have it show your personality! :)

The Disney Dream

Everyone wants their fairy tale wedding...

I'm a huuuuge Disney fan myself and most of my friends are big fans too so it was only so long before someone had a Disney Hen Night (quite a few actually!) Well one of my besties had a Minnie Mouse Hen Night so I created a few to see which she liked but THIS ONE seems to be a huge favorite of us Disney Dreamers!

Minnie Mouse Bridal Veil

This is hand made by myself at the Tutu Factory UK. On a silver headband, the ears are made of glitter fabric from Josy Rose (a must for all UK crafters/fashionistas!) a silver tiara and a white hologram dress net in the Tutu Factory cascade style. This creates a super sophisticated, yet cute take on a Minnie Mouse hen night for the Bride To Be!

I also attempted some sequin ears in a red for any sexy Minnie Bride To Be's!

Sequin Minnie Mouse Ears

These will soon be available to purchase from our website the Tutu Factory in a variety of colours to match your Minnie Theme! We're just currently re vamping our accessories section at the moment!

Please get in touch with any queries or custom orders <3 thetutufactory@hotmail.co.uk

Giving it a go - Fashion Skirts

Being a 'fashion designer' at heart I thought I'd give the current trends a go! We make skirts everyday so I thought, why not?

Hand Dyed Ombre Skirt

so easy to do and can be done in many colours!

I wanted a tie dye skirt look but I found this fabric by accident and fell in love with it!
My mum says it looks more like a weather map but I love the bright colours and the pattern, looks super on a hot day and my gorgeous cousin makes it look amazing!

I wanted a super hero skirt for myself that no one else had! I love the pop art trend but hate being seen in something that everyone else has. Cute pop art POW skirt for the super hero trend!

Keep tuned - never know what's next for the Tutu Factory :)

Springtime Magic Flower Dress Floral Costume

I've been throwing this idea around for a while, I'd seen an image on Instagram and Pintrest that had put the idea into my head but I'd just not had the time and thought it would take me a while to create but I finally made the jump and went and brought lots of artificial flowers (quite cheaply I may add!) with certain colours in mind. The lady at the counter even commented on my lovely selection although she did look a little shocked when I said I was creating a dress!

I've a fair few corsets lying around so I didn't need to wait around on that, added some draped dress net around the bottom of the corset and off I went! Below are a few 'progress' shots to help see how I achieved the look. I pinned them all in place first to see where I wanted them to go and then hand sewed it all later.

And carry on... flower by flower... to achieve your masterpiece!

Looks very artistic and as if it takes super hard work but not really!
Can also add some flowers to the corset as well to carry on the look or leave it bare if you don't want to go over the top

Have some flowers left over?
